Our client is currently seeking a Head of Department Geochemistry for a project in South Africa

Responsibilities:
• Plan and facilitate all management reviews
• Provide constant feedback to relevant business line managers on status of quality, safety, health and environment.
• Evaluate data in a quality role as well as maintain equipment inventory
• Facilitate and monitor method validation process
• Develop improvement systems
• Relationship building with professional and technical personnel
• Build supplier and client relationships
• Evaluate and analyse proficiency tests, customer complaints and improvement requests
• Provide Quality Training and awareness
• Health, safety and environmental acts and regulations
• Demonstrate safe work ethics
• Inputs into QHSE Reports
• Attend and lead Health, Safety and Quality meetings
• Work shifts, overtime and travel
• High ethical standards equivalent to the SGS integrity programs
• Strategic planning
• Up to date testing and co-ordination of documents and operating procedures that comply with laboratory ISO accreditation
• Up to date definitions and statistics in relation to Laboratory data predictions and conclusions.


Requirements:
• Bachelor degree or Diploma in Science
• ISO or College Quality Assurance Program Diploma
• 6-8 years’ experience in a testing environment
• 3-5 years’ experience in management systems (ISO 9000, 17025 or other)
• Advanced Microsoft software experience
• Document and report writing experience
• Statistical Quality Control knowledge
