You will be based in Toronto but will spend about 50% of your time in the field in Northern Canada.

Qualifications:

Relevant tertiary education - BSc. Geology (Hons)

Skills and Experience:

10-15 years experience in exploration, mining or both
Background in a specific commodity is not required
Management skills: Reporting, Communication, Planning, Mentoring etc.

Responsibilities:

Will be responsible for managing the field drilling programs;
Management of the geo tech programs;
Working with the operational team in providing input and data of the results;
Will be building the resource base models which will be used to build the mine plans;


Reporting to Project Director

Qualifications:
Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Engineering
Post graduate degree is desirable

Experience Required:
Procurement and contracting experience on a $1 Billion plus project;
Specific experience in Mining Green field projects;
Strong Heavy Civil contacting experience;
Experience working in the Northern/Arctic regions of Canada, including experience in dealing with Northern contractors and communities

Responsibilities:
Oversee the project procurement and contracting activities of EPCM contractors;
Provide strategic direction to the project team to enhance overall project value;
Develop and execute the procurement and contacting strategies in line with the project scheduling and commercial parameters;
Create and validate standard procurement and contracting documentation;
Work with designers to ensure commercially competent design and specifications;
Coordinate logistics;
Implement and manage procurement strategies and governance systems in line with group procurement policies and activities;
Lead integrated supply chain work processes;
Manage vendors and contractors;
Oversee coordination and management of purchase and contracting agreements and negotiate with suppliers and contractors to ensure the best costs, reliability, quality and schedules for the project;
Meet technical, legal and company standards related to procurement by monitoring all procurement activities;
Take a proactive approach to claims mitigation and management

Responsibilities
Continuously promote and monitor the safety management plan whilst ensuring compliance with applicable health and safety legislative requirements.
Develop and implement a pro-active approach to health and safety issues in the workplace, involving all stakeholders to ensure health and safety targets are achieved.
Ensure the incidents are investigated, monitored and reported in a timely manner and manage the resultant corrective actions.
Effectively train and develop staff according to needs and ensure the performance management system us effectively utilised.

Requirements
Ability to work in a multi cultural team and be able to adapt to a dynamic and challenging work environment;
Experience working in an underground environment and exposure to diamond drilling operations;
Held a similar position for at least 5 years;
Previous expat experience

Tertiary qualification in occupational health and safety management or related diploma;
Demonstrated experience in risk management processes;
Computer literacy;
English proficiency

Preferred
Certificate IV in training and assessment;
Front line management or similar management and leadership training;
Understanding of Filipino (Tagalog)
