Responsibilities:

• Organise and Coordinate tasks related to the Engineering, Drill/Blast and Port activities at mine level.
• Establish and maintain a record of sound safety, operational and technical performance and management practices.
• Achieve site safety & financial objectives
• Provide direction for sub ordinates ensuring group performances meet the expectation in Engineering, Drill/Blast and Port Departments.

Requirements:

Our client is currently seeking a Resource Geologist(Coal) for a project in Australia
Responsibilities:
- Updating and validation of the short term geological model to provide up to date interpretations of the seam geometry, structure, thickness, quality and location within the sequence, utilizing all available data
- Sign off and provide up to date & validated geological models for mine planning purposes including appropriate documentation and audit trails
- Liaise with Mine Geologist and Survey Department ensuring timely pickup of seam floor & floor data
- Ownership and Administration of geological database (Minex and Aquire)
- Sample tracking of analyses from external laboratories and uploading into Acquire. Tracing progress of samples and ensuring analyses reported to site.
- Liaise with exploration geologists to ensure both quality and structural drill hole designs.
- Ensure JORC compliant resource model categories are upgraded to reflect changes and improvements in the new data
- Scrutinize and validate third party models used for administration and design of adjoining leases for the purposes of mining and modeling
- Undertake project work as directed by the Technical Services and Planning Manager.
- Compliance with Health and Safety Obligations in accordance to Site Safety Management and Legislation; Correct use of Company PPE & OS&H standards.


Requirements:
- Degree in Geology
- Previous Work Experience as a Mine Geologist whilst providing ongoing development and maintenance of geological models and databases.
- Experience with exploration, management of rigs and support in reconciliation.
- Valid drivers license

Senior Geologist- Australia

Our client is currently seeking a Senior Open Pit Mine Geologist for a project in Australia

Responsibilities:
- Coordinate activities of the geological team ensuring that their tasks are consistently aligned with meeting operational targets
- Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of reconciliation systems for managing grade control minimizing dilution and maximizing recovery
- Contribute to the definition, implementation and monitoring of short, medium and long term mine based exploration programs to extend the life of mine (LOM) and increase reserves
- Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of the adherence to systems to ensure application of all critical geology mapping, reporting and data acquisitions as well as storage and retrieval systems
- Comply with SAMREC and Sox standards in the collection of geological data, sampling data and the geological interpretation of Resource and Grade Control models providing quality information in a timely manner
- Ensure the ongoing growth and development of the team by providing leadership, mentoring and feedback on overall performance and operational responsibilities within the team to ensure a competent, professional and effective environment
- Contribute to the achievement of planned production and safety targets

Requirements:
- BSc Honors degree in Geology or related discipline
- Eligible for professional registration
- Supervisory/Management Training
- Honor’s Degree and Formal Business/Commerce Studies would be advantageous
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience
- SAMREC/JORC competency for Resource reporting
- Experience in MS Office Suite and mining software such as Datamine
- Must have exposure to a variety of different ore body types and models
