The successful applicant will be responsible for completion and management of the Environmental aspects of the Iron Ore operations in a remote area of Mongolia.
Responsibilities
• Obtaining project environmental approvals, including liaison with consultants and coordinating site visits
• Undertaking site assessments and clearances for mining and exploration activities
• Selection and management of contractors and consultants for collection of baseline environmental data and preparation of permitting documents
• Maintain and implement Environmental Management Systems Manage a range of site related activities such as monitoring, sampling, data analysis and data reporting
• Preparation of the annual Mine Management Plan, including site water management plans, and amendments
• Participate in contacts and communications with stakeholders including the Mongolian government and agencies
• Mentoring of site-based environmental personnel
• Maintaining Compliance Register.
Requirements
• B.Sc in Environmental or Mining Engineering required; MS degree preferred
• Chartered status preferred
• Expert-level knowledge of mining issues; including closures, auditing, compliance, health & safety and setting up environmental management systems.
• Experience in implementing environmental management programs
• Excellent communication skills to deal directly with government agencies.
• Working knowledge of conditions of contract
• Computer literate
• Sound leadership, team building and negotiation skills
Position will be offered on a FIFO contract – 90/14 + 4 days travel. Single status preferred due to harsh conditions.

Engineering Services Manager (Mongolia)
My client is an energy and resources developer, with operations and investment over Mongolia and China. Currently seeking an Engineering Services Manager for their project in Mongolia
· Site based role to maintain and oversee all Engineering design and operations of the current facility.
· To manage and oversee the mine site operators technical assumptions and that they are in the best long term interest of the mine operation.
· To ensure that the mine contractor complies with the agreed mine plan and comply to the engineering standards
· Focus across the full ambit of project engineering management.
· Mine site Engineering and assisting the project manager in mine site infrastructure and development of associate’s project including construction of mine site facilities, wash plant, power plant and rotary breakers.
· Implementation of engineering policies and procedures.
· Ensuring that the company maximises its profits through strategic engineering and by ensuring compliance with local requirements.
· Ensuring country compliance with the all the companies policies and procedures
· Engineering planning and budget reports and compliances within the group standards.
